Hello there!

Welcome to The Girl Who Ate The World. That’s me – Adriana. I am the girl who ate the world. One strand of spaghetti at a time.

It’s no secret to those around me that I love food. I love eating food, I love cooking food for my family and friends, and I love thinking about food. The process of deciding what I’m going to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner makes me immensely happy. I often catch myself at my day job dreaming up what I’m going to cook for dinner that night, accidentally Googling recipes along the way. There is no greater joy to me than food, and I am so pleased to be able to share my passion with you through this blog.

Just a quick note about my background – I am by no means a qualified cook or nutritionist. Please don’t take my recipes to be an indication of what you should be eating as a balanced diet (in fact, I strongly suggest you don’t!).

My recipes are about the yum factor, not about maintaining a slim waistline. You won’t find a calorie counter on any of my recipes. Food should be about pleasure, about joy. I don’t associate guilt or judgement with food, and despise food being labelled as ‘good’ or ‘bad’. Food is fuel and you need it to live. To quote Nigella Lawson when asked about what her guilty food pleasure is – “I don’t feel guilty about any pleasure.” Amen, sister!
